‘Allsorts’ is our Sunday morning programme of groups for the children that are part of the Cairns Road family. There are groups for 0-2s, 3-5s, 5-8s and 8-11s. During the year they explore stories and characters from the Bible, develop knowledge of important biblical truths and are encouraged to consider what the stories and teaching mean to them personally. There is an opportunity to play games, do craft activities and share news and prayer requests with the group. The children are also encouraged to get involved in wider church activities such as music, drama, welcoming and being involved in all-age services.
Alongside the regular Sunday groups we also run one-off events and activities such as pancake parties and the Light Party as an alternative to halloween.
All our groups are led by DBS checked volunteers and run in accordance with our SAFEGUARDING Policy. The team is led by Hilary Flynn. You can contact Hilary by emailing children@cairns road.org
The youth work at Cairns Road divides between two roles: meeting the young people of the community and those within the church. Full details can be found on our youth website.
We run ‘Upper Room’ youth groups during the Sunday service for Bible based discussion and discovery and these groups have monthly socials on a Sunday afternoon. Other groups happen through the week to reach out to other young people in the area.
We also offer young people the opportunity to be mentored by an adult from the church and to go to conferences such as Soul Survivor. Our youth work is currently led by a team of volunteers who can be contacted on firstname.lastname@example.org.
